On the radio yesterday the talk show host was asking the question...
"If you could go back and give your 15 year old SELF advice, NOW, knowing what you know, what would you tell him or her?"
I have thought a lot about this question. We try to tell our children what we have learned through our life's lesson, but do they listen? Most of them, at least mine, have to experience it on their own, and by all rights should. But how much heartache and pain might be avoided if we and they would listen to our parents and the wisdom that comes with age.
So I pose this question to any blog readers that might stumble upon my blog and read it. I would be interested to hear what you would tell yourself, if you had the opportunity to give yourself advice. Don't be afraid, leave your thoughts. I hope to learn from you. In advance I thank you for sharing.

If I thought about this more, I'd probably have a cooler answer. But off the top of my head I'd probably say: Don't worry so much what other people think. Be myself, and who cares if people like it or don't. Be comfortable in my own skin. If that makes sense. Too many teenagers are always worried about what everyone else thinks of them, when it just does not matter.
ReplyDeleteAnd stay away from boys. I just didn't need to be so aware of them, ya know? :-)
ReplyDeleteI would say to myself "you think this is hard?!? Wait until you are 30 and have 4 kids and life really gets hard". It's so funny at 15 everything is so tramatic and stressful. I'd love to only have the stress of a 15 year old again. Oh, and I'd tell myself to relax, not be so uptight all the time (i'm still telling myself that).
ReplyDeleteWell, I have no answer to that question but it has left me with a lot to think about ... I'll get back to you! :0
ReplyDeleteMy words of advice would be to "be good". Doing what's right truly does bring the most joy and happiness.
ReplyDeleteI would probably say to myself...Have more good clean fun...don't be afraid to try new things...go to beautiful places...enjoy experiences with family and friends... be the one to plan adventures and then go and enjoy! It sounds like good advice I should take myself up on that...what new adventure should I have?
ReplyDeleteI heard rumors you guys were coming!! I'm excited for you to meet Tyce.
